About

Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where a few of us kept arguing about which games were worth the storage space. At some point the arguments got long enough that we just made a site for them. Everything here is written after we've actually played, usually for several evenings, sometimes longer.

We don't chase every new release. We pick games that seem interesting to live with for a while, across different genres, and we try to be honest about the dull parts too. A flashy trailer means nothing if the third hour is a slog.

When we choose something to review, we look at how it handles on mid-range phones, not just the newest flagship. Battery drain, touch controls, how much the game nags you to come back, the readability of small text on the move, all of that goes into the write-up.

Nobody here is paid by a studio to say nice things. If a game annoys us, we say so, and if it surprises us, we say that too.
